O 3rd Competition for the Acquisition of Geological and Geophysical Data, promoted by the National Petroleum Institute (INP) in Mozambique, attracted a considerable number of tenderers, a fact that sustains positive expectations about the outcome that is already coming.
The limited invitation to tender, which was opened for the submission of tenders from 11 November to 6 December 2024, follows the need for coverage of relevant data for the areas awarded in the light of the different Area Grant Contest held in Mozambique until this part. The data to be purchased will later be used in the country's continuous assessment of oil potential, as well as in the next area concession competitions.
For this competition, the data acquisition subject, AS1_24 to AS8_24 for seismic acquisition, and AGM1_24 and AGM2_24 for potential data acquisition (Gravimetric and Magnetic).
According to the Commission, in spite of the short-term challenges of the country and industry as a whole, the tender has been successful, and at this very moment the technical sessions for the analysis and evaluation of each of the proposals submitted to the INP are taking place.
