Natural Gas

Natural gas is the oil that is in normal atmospheric conditions in the gaseous state, as well as unconventional gas, including methane gas, associated with coal and bituminous shale gas. Natural gas is produced in Mozambique from the Pande/Temane fields, located in the Mozambique Basin, and in 2004 began production of the Temane Field and in 2009 the Pande field was coupled to the system.

The cumulative gas produced from the beginning until January 2021 was 59,818.280,923.5 Nm3, corresponding to 2,479.612,210.4 GJ. The gas produced is processed at the Gas Processing Center located in Temane, Inhambane Province, and about 80% of this gas is exported to South Africa and the remainder sold on the national market.

Condensed

The condensate derived from gas production is stabilised at the processing plant, stored and subsequently sold on the international market. From the beginning of production to January of the current year (2021) a total of 7,618,681,87 bbls (barris) was produced.

Production Impots (IPP) - Royalty Gas

Royalty Gas is the Oil Production Tax (IPP) to be paid to the government by the concessionaire. For the oil production contract, for Pande and Temane fields, even corresponds to 5% of the gas produced and sold, and can be paid in kind or in cash.

Graph 3 shows the equivalent of royalty gas delivered to the government (118.174.217.3 GJ) from the beginning of production to January 2021, being part of this quantity paid in kind (in the form of gas) and the other part in cash.
